cold abyss

maybe it's the time of year
maybe it's the feel of the chill in the air
that causes my to freeze my mind
and close off my feelings
hiding from everyone
to save myself the pain
I try not to show it
anything I'm feeling
but it's not so simple
maybe it's the feel of the chill in the air
or maybe it's a slow descent
into the cold abyss
